In prepping for my final cake for the Wilton Method Fondant and Gum Paste class, I accidentally made a 9 inch chocolate fudge cake instead of an 8 inch. So rather than waste the cake (or attempt messily trimming it), I decided to try making some of bakerella's cake pops. I had green and red cake sparkles, so I made them look like apples. Cake balls are dark chocolate fudge cake missed with cream cheese icing, dipped in white Wilton candy melts, and sprinkled with cake sparkles. Stem is half a pretzel stick and the leaf is fondant. Haha I find it amusing that Bakerella's pops are so popular. Believe me, I adore them; they were the biggest hit of my family's Easter celebration! I have been looking on the internet for two hours for different, cute desserts, and eight out of ten have been plays on Bakerella's recipe. That being said, I love, love, love what you've done with it here. This is soooo cute. They look delicious!
